Each action we undertake is done on behalf of our customers, as meeting their expectations makes us feel good.The EU Health and Safety function is part of the Operational teams and supports our Fulfilment Centres who are responsible for managing the vast range of fast paced inventory from inbound to outbound and work very hard to ensure that our customers receive what they want, when they want it.Key job responsibilitiesLead a team of Safety Managers, including performance driven issuesLead Italy Fulfillment Centers safety programsBe a net contributor to EU CF Health & Safety leadership and functional progressionOversee safety performance metrics reporting and communicationAssist general managers in communication, training, and execution of the Safety & Environmental Programs throughout the regions FC’sEnsure compliance to EU laws as it applies to Occupational Safety for all relevant FC’sPerform regular gap analysis to best justify funds for site safety improvements and react to Associate feedbackEnsure compliance to Safety programs such as Lockout-Tagout, Fall Protection, Fire Prevention, EmergencyDevelop and implement training programs to meet the needs of Managers and Associates in regards to critical safety issuesAnalyze accident data and build prevention programs to impact accident trendsBuild management and employee commitment for a Safety program through engagement, leadership toolsReview Standard Operating Procedure changes and make Safety recommendationsConduct site visits, reviewing site safety standards, share feedback with site Ops leadership team and site safety team, support them and hold them accountable for improving standards. Also take this opportunity to have development and leadership conversations with the site teams.Insist on high standards on risk assessment, Operational Safety rules adherence and site safety standards.Conduct Job Hazard Analysis and Job Safety AnalysisInteract with Workers Compensation third‑party administrators in carrying out claims managementDevelop a positive working relationship with local authorities i.E. Fire Department, etc.Provide weekly metrics reporting to senior management teamsApplying Lean tools to Safety: error‑proof processes, analyze Safety trends and create proactive plans to address – develop analytical, dashboard performance approach to safety management key risks, use Pareto analysis and other tools to monitor and drive high‑effectiveness Safety programsProject Work for topics relating to the networkSupport other related network projectsMaintain communication with law enforcement bodies and accident insurersMaintain communication with Operational directors and General ManagersConsult with works councils, safety committees as requiredEnsure metrics parityBasic QualificationsEducation to a degree level and ASPP or RSPP certifiedRelevant experience managing a teamRelevant experience complying with local Health and Safety legislationAdvanced proficiency in verbal and written English and the local languageAbility to work in teams and engage, collaborate and influence cross functional teams.Excellent communication skills to manage stakeholders across shop floor and executives.Demonstrable record of driving significant change through an operationPreferred QualificationsExperience with Lean, 5S and Kaizen methodologiesQualifications or experience in the field of sustainabilityRelevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadershipChartered membership of a Human Resources industry body (e.G., IOSH) to support people managementAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
