The role will ensure that testing is carried out according to procedures, including being involved with setup, issue resolution, forecasting, data acquisition, and interfacing with the customer. The NVH Test Engineer II will consolidate test results and prepare reports for internal and external customers. This position is located in Romeo, MI. /p h3As a NVH Test Engineer II, you will: /h3 ul liPrepare and setup test equipment such as fixtures, wiring, and instrumentation /li liCollaborate with technicians to conduct tests, document test set-up, and process test results /li liAnalyze data, create conclusions, and make recommendations from tests conducted. Clearly communicate test results /li liVerify testing accuracy, thoroughness, and determine if additional testing is needed /li liIdentify NVH or testing issues and help to develop countermeasures /li liTailor testing requirements and processes accordingly to ensure efficient and reliable testing /li liLead equipment management in the area of work including helping identify needs for equipment maintenance, calibration, upgrade, and acquisition /li liLead project management and implementation of testing efficiency improvements /li liPerform minor automotive mechanic work and part changes as required for testing /li /ul h3To be considered a NVH Test Engineer II, you will need: /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related field /li li2 years of experience working in structural dynamics and/or acoustics /li liBasic knowledge of powertrain and driveline NVH, vehicle NVH, modal analysis, mount and fixturing systems, or acoustic and damping materials /li liBasic knowledge of NVH instrumentation, test equipment, and data processing techniques. /li liProficient skills with Microsoft Office products /li liAbility to multi-task and be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills /li liStrong verbal and written communication skills /li /ul h3A successful candidate may also have: /h3 ul liMaster’s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related field /li liBasic knowledge of one or more NVH or vehicle testing and analysis software: Siemens LMS Simcenter Testlab, HEAD Acoustics, B K Pulse, National Instruments Labview, PTDiag, and Vector tools (CANalyzer CANape) /li liBasic knowledge of numerical programming software such as Matlab, Python, or GNU Octave /li liBasic knowledge of NVH testing equipment such as impact hammers, laser vibrometer, accelerometers, shakers, microphones, tachometers, and other sensors /li liAbility to diagnose and solve NVH problems using experimental and analytical techniques, operate powertrain or chassis dynamometers, and develop custom test stands /li liGood skill with experimental modal analysis such as Frequency Response Functions (FRF), transfer functions, harmonics, coherence, Fast Fourier Transforms (FFT), signal processing, windowing, damping, etc. /li /ul pIf you share our passion for providing innovative solutions to complex challenges, we want you on our team.
