We are seeking a Thermodynamic Development Base Calibration Engineer to join our headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese (BO). You will report to the Head of Powertrain, Design, Simulation Development and work closely with the Thermodynamic Development Base Calibration Coordinator.Your responsibilities include engine thermodynamic development and base calibration, ensuring compliance with product specifications related to performance, fuel consumption, and homologation, within the project timeline.You will handle the base calibration of the engine control unit, focusing on functions related to combustion actuations and physical models (air and fuel paths, torque, charge, knock and pre-ignition control, actuator management, etc.).Additional responsibilities involve test planning and execution at powertrain test facilities (engine and powertrain test beds).Your key processes will include:Engine Testing and CalibrationThermodynamic testing and developmentDesign and execution of test plansDOE measurements on test bedsRobustness testing for performance, consumption, tolerances, and environmental conditionsData analysis using AVL Concerto, Cameo, ETAS MDA, and MatlabMethodology and tool development for calibrationECU calibration optimization with ETA INCA and AVL CRETADocumentation of results and technical reportsAchieving performance and emission targets in compliance with regulationsEngine development integrating mechanics and systemsSupporting calculations and analysis post-engine testingTeam meetings, scheduling, and cross-department coordinationAbout youDegree in Mechanical EngineeringMinimum 5 years’ experience in the automotive sectorExperience in engine calibration and thermodynamic development of internal combustion enginesFluent in English; German is a plusDeep understanding of internal combustion engine thermodynamicsKnowledge of transmission, electric powertrain, and system integrationUnderstanding of electronic, IT, and control engineeringExperience with Boost and Charge Control calibrationExperience with Exhaust temperature and GPF models calibrationFamiliarity with 0D physical models and simulationTest bench management skillsStrong mathematical and troubleshooting skillsAnalytical mindset and problem-solving abilitiesWillingness to travel and flexible attitudeWhat we offerHolistic Well-Being programParenthood support initiativesOpportunities for internal career growthAccess to specialized learning pathsIf interested, please submit your application by May 27th.Apply nowComplete the form below to apply.I have read and accept the privacy policyI have read and accept the terms and conditions
