Job PurposeAs a Quotation Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing cost estimates, technical quotations, and commercial proposals for industrial projects or equipment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, and project management to ensure quotations meet both technical feasibility and financial competitiveness. Key ResponsibilitiesCost Estimation & Proposal PreparationAnalyze customer specifications, drawings, and documentation to develop accurate cost and pricing estimates.Prepare technical and commercial proposals based on customer requirements and company capabilities.Review bills of materials (BOM), labor hours, equipment costs, and logistics to formulate comprehensive quotations.Tender & Bid ManagementSupport bid preparation for public and private tenders in coordination with the sales team.Interpret tender documents and technical specifications, ensuring compliance and alignment with internal capabilities.Participate in technical clarifications, commercial negotiations, and pre-award discussions with clients.Internal CoordinationCollaborate with engineering, supply chain, and procurement teams to gather cost inputs and validate technical feasibility.Coordinate with external suppliers for pricing, lead time, and technical data to support bid accuracy.Maintain quotation records and ensure timely delivery of all technical and financial documentation.Process ImprovementAnalyze win/loss ratios and identify trends to improve cost estimation and pricing strategies.Update and maintain cost models and quotation templates based on market conditions and historical data.Ensure compliance with internal procedures, approval workflows, and quality standards. RequirementsBachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Management Engineering (or similar).Minimum 3 years’ experience in cost estimation, proposal engineering, or technical sales support in an industrial setting.Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, material costs, labor, and supply chain dynamics.Proficiency in Excel, ERP (e.g., SAP), and engineering tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.)Excellent analytical thinking, attention to detail, and communication skills.Fluent in English (spoken and written); knowledge of Italian is a plus. Preferred QualificationsExperience in sectors such as industrial machinery, energy, HVAC, automation, or construction.Familiarity with public tendering processes, EPC contracts, and international proposals.Background in project management, technical design, or procurement is advantageous.
