Support Engineer, Data Center Central Operations Job ID: ******* | Amazon Data Services, Inc. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to deliver safety and security while providing scalable capacity at the lowest possible cost. The Central Operations Migration team seeks someone who enjoys deep-diving technical issues, can articulate and document technical solutions, and can work backwards from our customers. What you will own This role is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) working with engineering and service teams across multiple organizations to support the movement of capacity from one data center to another. Support the migration of server racks with focus on driving increased speed through defect identification and mitigation. Work with both new and existing ML and non-ML server hardware types. Contribute to business north-star goals and own input goals at the team level. Who we are The Data Center Central Operations Migration team provides technical support to the global operations business within AWS data centers. Our vision is to ensure that work is safe, secure, serviceable, supportable and highly available for customers. Who you'll work with You will primarily work within the DCC organization as an advocate and SME for Data Center Community (DCC) operations. Daily engagements include the data center planning teams, services teams, and local operations teams, in addition to your direct team. Why it matters AWS is growing rapidly. Your work will impact thousands of customers by landing hardware and delivering capacity quickly to enable growth and availability. Key job responsibilities You will develop solutions to move and recover capacity for customers. You will interact directly with data center technicians to support escalations for issue resolution. You will work with systems engineers to push upstream fixes to enable capacity recovery. You will deep-dive defects throughout the rack migration process and develop solutions to mitigate defects. You will contribute to data analytics to support your role. You will evaluate data and trending patterns to uncover defects across product life cycles. A day in the life A day in the life of this role will involve a mix of working with our internal DCC Ops, Support/System Engineering, TPMs, Hardware Engineering, and Software teams to address systemic issues and resolve capacity recovery campaigns. The base pay for this position ranges from $67,200/year to $150,300/year, depending on location, knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
