The Role
As a Senior Backend Developer, you’ll be at the heart of our multidisciplinary product team, building the engine that powers Cortilia’s digital ecosystem. You won’t just write code; you’ll be a key collaborator, shaping the specifications that ensure our platform is robust, scalable, and future-proof.
Under the guidance of our Tech Leads and CPO, you will transform priorities and high‑impact opportunities into reality. You’ll be responsible for executing at the highest standards of quality and performance, ensuring our technical roadmap stays ahead of the curve while remaining aligned with our strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Back‑end Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable back‑end services and components using Java (8+) and Spring Boot.
AI‑Augmented Workflow: Actively integrate AI tools into your daily workflow (e.g., GitHub Copilot, IDE agents) to accelerate prototyping, debugging, and unit test generation.
Technical Analysis: Contribute to the advancement of essential projects by outlining software specifications, workflows, and data models.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments and product stakeholders during the specification phase to ensure technical feasibility and sustainability.
Code Quality: Engage in pair programming and code reviews, promoting high standards of code maintainability and reliability.
Production Support: Collaborate with the IT team for the maintenance and monitoring of production environments and services.
Requirements
Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience in back‑end development with Java 8+
Frameworks: Strong proficiency in Spring Boot and expertise in developing RESTful APIs.
Databases: Solid mastery of SQL (experience with PostgreSQL is a major plus).
Cloud & DevOps: Strong experience with AWS common services (ECS, SNS/SQS, RDS, S3) and containerization via Docker.
AI Mindset: A proactive and curious attitude toward using LLMs and AI‑powered coding tools. We value candidates who have already integrated these tools into their workflow to increase productivity and code quality.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical fields.
Languages: Excellent command of Italian and English (both written and spoken).
Nice to Have
Knowledge of other JVM‑based languages (e.g., Kotlin) or scripting languages like Python.
Familiarity with telemetry platforms and monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog).
Experience with CI/CD tools and automation platforms (e.g., Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
Interest in participating in the internal definition of new \"AI‑first\" development standards within the product team.
