From this location ESA conducts most of their earth observation research, including data analysis and distribution for other non-ESA satellites. /ppThis position is open to everyone ; including to protected categories under Italian Law 68/99 (“Rules for the right to work of disabled people”). /ppbTasks and activities /b /ppbThe scope of work will include: /b /pulliSupporting communication between developers, Mission project, data quality manager, PDGS manager and the DISC (using cloud based collaborative Algorithm and Analysis Platform). /liliReviewing Hyperspectral L1 and Level-2 Processors. /liliReviewing DISC related to SAR Level-1, Level-2 and Level-3 processors. /liliPlanning and preparing documentation related to data quality activities (including processor maintenance and evolution as well as product monitoring). /liliDefining the cross-verification tests and relevant result analysis for the Operational/Prototype processor(s) for Hyperspectral Level-1 and Level 2 and/or SAR Level-1, Level-2 and Level 3, related to Cal/Val and data quality tool. /liliSupporting the management and the execution of the PDGS integration, testing and Ground Segment Validation activities. /liliReviewing technical, scientific and managerial documentation from various sources: ESA, Industry/Developers, Mission Experts, DISC, Post Launch Support etc. /liliParticipating in Ground Segment Reviews, PDGS reviews and DISC reviews organized either by ESA or by Industry and management. /li /ulpbSkills and experience /b /ppbThe following skills and experience are mandatory: /b /pulliMaster’s Degree or equivalent, preferably in Space Engineering, Remote Sensing or Earth Observation /liliDemonstrated experience on Thermal Infrared Instrument. /liliExperience in the development and or review of ATBD. /liliAutonomous in writing technical notes, specifications and reports. /liliExperience in and data monitoring. /liliSolid background in data quality control. /liliBackground in operational processors development. /liliExperience in calibration activities. /liliDesire to work bothously and as part of a team, in an international multicultural environment. /liliSolution oriented mindset, with a customer focused communication skill. /liliFluent in English, both written and spoken. /li /ulpbThe following skills and experience would be highly desirable: /b /pulliKnowledge of the ESA Earth Explorers missions (and instruments), and processes related to their PDGS development. /liliUnderstanding and background of Earth Observation applications. /liliProgramming skills to develop tools for the accomplishment of the engineering, testing and validation activities. /liliKnowledge of containerization technologies and virtual environment. /liliKnowledge of the ECSS standards and documentation and configuration control management techniques. /liliExperience in SAR instrument or Hyperspectral instruments. /li /ulpbWhy should you apply? /b /pulliYou will have the opportunity to work within leading space organisations across Europe. /liliWe encourage everyone to think outside the box and to push the boundaries of traditional knowledge.
