Job Summary
We are looking for a talented and motivated Software Engineer with strong programming skills to design, develop and optimise automated workflows for aerospace data processing systems. The successful candidate will work on a full‑time permanent position, with a hybrid working style and excellent opportunities for career progress within the Space sector.
Community You Will Join
You will work in an international, diverse team, surrounded by top‑tier scientists, engineers, and technical experts who inspire and challenge you every day. You’ll have ongoing opportunities to grow through specialised training and professional development tailored to the space sector, all while being part of a company that genuinely values work‑life balance, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to excellence. As you contribute to innovative projects and mission‑critical systems, you’ll gain hands‑on exposure to cutting‑edge technologies and collaborate closely with major space agencies, becoming part of something truly extraordinary.
Difference You Will Make
You will contribute directly to some of Europe’s most exciting space programmes, from Earth observation and climate monitoring to satellite navigation and space safety. Your work will play a vital role in ensuring mission success, enabling better decision‑making on Earth and driving innovation in orbit. Whether you’re helping manage spacecraft operations, analysing mission data, or supporting software and systems development, your expertise will help move Europe’s space ambitions forward.
Your Mission
You will step into a role where you will shape the invisible machinery that keeps everything running smoothly. You will build and maintain orchestration pipelines, craft automation scripts, and weave together services so they will work as one cohesive system. While you will not need prior experience in the space sector, you will rely on your solid, hands‑on knowledge of Linux environments. Your skills in scripting, programming, and system integration will become your most trusted tools, guiding you as you design, connect, and refine the systems that will power the work ahead.
What You Bring To The Mission
With a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, you will design and maintain orchestration pipelines and automated workflows for Production Services and Satellite Data Elaboration Systems. You will build deployment and configuration automation, integrate and optimise PostgreSQL databases, and work with containerisation or virtualization technologies such as Docker, while collaborating through tools like Git. Your strong Python skills, along with experience using Redis and Spring Batch, will support automation and batch workflows. With solid Linux and Bash knowledge, a good grasp of SQL and relational databases, and familiarity with Grafana, you will ensure system performance and reliability. Working closely with operations teams, you will help keep production systems running smoothly and support incident resolution and mission activities via Jira, guided by an analytical, problem‑solving mindset.
