Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Strategic Procurement Manager to help shape the future. Based in Milan, within the Purchasing area of the Projects Business Unit, reporting directly to the Cost and Materials Director.
The candidate will have the following responsibilities:
1. Be part of the bidding process with responsibility for providing accurate raw material costs during the tender phase, including participating in tender kick-off meetings and coordinating with relevant functions to understand project details and implications on raw material sourcing.
2. Maintain close contact with Corporate Procurement to understand market trends and discuss specific topics related to ongoing tenders.
3. Define the correct cost for each raw material in specific tenders.
4. Identify and monitor upcoming volumes for main raw materials to address constraints promptly and ensure material availability and competitiveness in the medium and long term.
5. Coordinate with BU planning functions and Corporate Procurement to analyze volume evolution and implications.
6. Support budgeting processes by collecting future volume data for main raw materials.
7. Lead projects related to materials and suppliers to prepare the Business Unit for future opportunities, including introducing new materials or suppliers, reducing reliance on single sources, and enhancing supplier sustainability.
8. Create work plans, coordinate activities across functions, and ensure clear responsibilities, targets, and timelines.
9. Proactively propose solutions and escalate decisions as needed.
MUST HAVE
* Business or Engineering background
* Over 5 years of experience
* Solid experience as a Buyer/Commodity Manager in a structured international organization
* Knowledge of technical fundamentals related to materials (mechanical, chemical, electrical)
* Experience leading projects and coordinating across functions (Quality, R&D, plants, etc.)
* Familiarity with complex organizational contexts and stakeholder management skills
* Proactive, curious, results-driven, and capable of managing complexity and challenges
* Excellent team-building abilities
* Willingness to travel up to 20%
NICE TO HAVE
* Experience as a Buyer/Commodity Manager in the energy sector
