We're recruiting for a Pricing Actuary / Pricing Lead to join a leading European embedded insurance company, delivering pricing strategies across Motor, Home, Pet, and SME products.
This role combines strategic thinking, hands-on technical delivery, and strong stakeholder management, working with MGAs and distribution partners to develop data-driven pricing frameworks via an API-based technology platform. You'll lead the development and implementation of pricing models, ensuring alignment with business objectives, market dynamics, and regulatory expectations while collaborating across a diverse international ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
* Execute pricing strategies to deliver profitable growth and market competitiveness, collaborating with MGAs and distribution partners to refine pricing models, conduct statistical risk modelling, and implement pricing solutions via API platforms
* Develop management information and conduct portfolio analytics to monitor and optimize performance, carrying out regular reviews of pricing structures, profitability, and customer segmentation while accounting for competitor pricing, claims trends, and regulatory updates
* Design, implement, and enhance pricing models using actuarial and statistical methods including machine learning approaches, monitoring model performance and recalibrating when needed while performing peer reviews of MGA pricing proposals to ensure technical robustness
* Present pricing results to internal teams and distributors, communicate complex technical topics to non-technical audiences, and ensure pricing strategies remain compliant with UK regulatory requirements while managing stakeholder relationships across the ecosystem
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven insurance pricing experience covering Motor, Home, and/or SME products with a strong understanding of Italian market dynamics, regulatory framework, and demonstrable proficiency in actuarial techniques and pricing modelling
* Technical expertise with P&C pricing tools (AKUR8, RADAR, EARNIX or equivalent), strong programming skills in SQL and/or Python, and experience with machine learning approaches and data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau)
* Track record of leading pricing projects and/or teams with excellent communication skills, ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, strong commercial acumen, and strategic thinking capability; actuarial qualification (FIA/FFA) or progress toward qualification desirable
