The Thematic Team, created in 2021, aims to advance WFP’s climate, resilience, social protection, and nutrition portfolio through strategic fundraising for thematic and development activities. /ppbOrganizational Context /b /ppWFP seeks to fill the position of Government Partnerships Officer for Social Protection, based at Headquarters in Rome, Italy. /ppbJob Purpose /b /ppWFP relies on voluntary contributions to finance its projects. Building relationships with public sector fundraising partners is crucial for supporting projects that impact millions globally. Fundraising for the thematic agenda, especially social protection, requires targeted strategies and expertise in social protection financing. /ppbResponsibilities /b /pulliImplement a government donor engagement plan on social protection to identify and strengthen partnerships aligned with WFP’s objectives, including organizing discussions, events, and publications. /liliPosition WFP’s value proposition in social protection with partners, develop tailored engagement materials, and support coherent partner engagement across the organization. /liliGuide units and regional offices on partnership strategies, proposal development, and best practices; update programming portfolios and funding needs. /liliMaintain up-to-date donor intelligence and promote use of key information systems. /liliCoordinate the Social Protection Trust Fund, ensuring donor relations and reporting are met. /liliManage the social protection partnerships portfolio, including partner profiling, data analysis, and outreach planning to maximize opportunities. /liliSupport corporate dialogue with partners, highlighting strategic opportunities and advising senior management. /liliAssist in designing partnership proposals, negotiations, and agreements, ensuring partner visibility and compliance. /liliSupport WFP’s positioning with governments and institutions in countries where WFP operates, based on socio-political insights. /liliPerform other related duties as required. /li /ulpbQualifications and Experience /b /ppuEducation : /u Advanced degree in International Development, Economics, International Relations, Social Protection, or related field. /ppuExperience : /u At least 8 years in partnership roles, with expertise in social protection policy, financing, and programming. /ppbKnowledge and Skills /b /pulliExperience in developing multi-stakeholder partnerships and advocacy events. /liliProven ability to build long-term relationships and expand engagement across sectors and geographies. /liliResource mobilization, negotiation, and contract management skills. /liliData-driven decision-making and external messaging experience. /liliInnovation in system improvements and partner intelligence platforms. /li /ulpbLanguages /b /ppFluent in English (Level C).
