Role PurposeThe Tempo parziale Facilities and Health & Safety Assistant supports the daily operations, maintenance, and safety of all HFIS campuses. Working under the direction of the Facilities and H&S; Manager, this role ensures that the buildings, grounds, and equipment are safe, well‐maintained, and compliant with local health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
\n
Facilities and Maintenance Support
- Support the Facilities and H&S; Manager with the coordination of daily maintenance, cleaning, and repair tasks.
- Conduct regular site checks to identify maintenance issues and report them promptly.
- Liaise with contractors and service providers on‐site, ensuring work is completed safely and to standard.
- Assist with setting up, dismantling, and moving equipment and furniture for school activities, meetings, and events.
- Support the coordination of maintenance requests, ensuring prioritisation and timely resolution.
- Maintain records and assist with the filing of invoices, quotes, and service reports.

Health & Safety
- Support the implementation of the school's Health & Safety (H&S;) policies and procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections of fire safety, first aid, and emergency equipment (e.g., extinguishers, AEDs, first aid kits).
- Assist in maintaining H&S; documentation, such as risk assessments, inspection logs, and incident reports.
- Help coordinate H&S; training and drills (e.g., fire and lockdown drills).
- Support the management of hazardous materials and ensure compliance with local safety standards.
- Report and record any H&S; incidents, near misses, or hazards to the Facilities and H&S; Manager.

Events & Operations
- Provide on‐site support for events, ensuring proper set‐up, safety, and venue readiness.
- Assist with event logistics such as unlocking/locking facilities and ensuring security procedures are followed.

Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in facilities, maintenance, or H&S; support role (educational environment desirable).
- Good understanding of general building safety and maintenance practices.
- Basic knowledge of H&S; procedures and willingness to attend training.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Practical, hands‐on approach to problem‐solving.
- Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings or weekends for school events.
- Driver's licence required.
- Good use of Microsoft Excel.
