This role requires strategic thinking, exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of supply chain and logistics management, and the ability to drive operational excellence.Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to drive growth, improve efficiency, and ensure profitability of contract logistics operations.Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of logistics professionals to achieve operational excellence and meet client expectations.Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers’ peers, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.Cost Management: Manage the budget effectively, control costs, and maximize profitability while maintaining high-quality service.Process Optimization: Collaborate with Operations, Business Transformations, and IT teams to assess and enhance logistics processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices.Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and industry standards, including safety and quality requirements.Contract Negotiation: Manage contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.Union Relations Support: Support HR in union discussions, agreements, and provide operational information on productivity targets, volume trends, and work schedules.Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor KPIs to measure logistics efficiency and success.The Requirements10-15 years of experience in Operations/Logistics4-5 years in roles with similar responsibilitiesEngineering or Economics degreeExperience managing complex and distributed teamsStrong negotiation skillsEffective presentation and public speaking abilitiesProficiency in MS Excel and PowerPointProven ability to act for change and innovationPrevious experience in a consultancy firmMaster’s degree in Finance or Business AdministrationLean certification or experience with Lean methodologies
