This committed group works to maintain the critical physical infrastructure that supports Amazon Web Services, ensuring the data center’s MEP operates at 100% availability while delivering best‑in‑class customer service to teams and groups within the data centers. /p h3Key Job Responsibilities /h3 ul liOversee day‑to‑day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a data center. /li liOperate independently with limited direct management. /li liAct as an escalation point for all facility‑related issues, escalating to the Data Center Facility Manager as needed, and work overtime as required to support site stability. /li liPerform root cause analysis of equipment failures. /li liTroubleshoot and report facility and data‑center‑level events within internal SLA. /li liCreate and deploy new standard practices for Engineering Operations Technicians, Chief Engineers, and vendor support teams. /li liProvide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians. /li liEnsure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendor and Amazon staff. /li liUtilize internal CMMS to manage building workflows. /li liCommunicate complex technical information to a non‑technical audience. /li /ul h3Physical Requirements /h3 ul liWalk job sites in uneven terrain. /li liWork at heights and from ladders. /li liRegularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds; participate in group lifts for 50 pounds or more. /li liCoordinate body movements when using tools or equipment. /li liReach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance. /li liBend or twist the body into unusual positions while working. /li Perform physical tasks all day without becoming overly tired. liUse hands to manipulate small wires and objects. /li liPush or pull heavy objects into position. /li liWork in a noisy environment. /li liWork at depths, such as under raised floors. h3A Day in the Life /h3 pEnsuring all maintenance activities completed overnight were correct. Checking for any compliance issues with maintenance activities scheduled or completed. Updating trouble tickets in our tracking program. Setting up vendors for access and scheduling them for work. That’s why you’ll find endless knowledge‑sharing, mentorship and other career‑advancing resources here to help you develop into a better‑rounded professional. /p h3Basic Qualifications /h3 ul li3+ years of vendor management experience. /li li4+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment. /li liBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. /li liCurrent, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above. /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul li3+ years of construction or project management experience. /li liElectrical or mechanical Journeyman licence. /li liOperating engineering licence such as DC II, DC III, or equivalent. /li liExperience in construction or project management. /li liAbility to manage small‑to‑medium impacting projects from conception to completion. /li liStrong collaboration skills with engineering, automation, processing, and finance teams. /li liSecurity and Citizenship Requirements: Candidate must be a US citizen and currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility. /li /ul h3Compensation and Benefits /h3 pThe base salary range for this position is USD 96,000.00 – 166,300.00 annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
