Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Leading, training, and mentoring the restaurant team (Chef de Rang, Commis de Rang, Sommeliers, Host/Hostess) to deliver consistently outstanding service.
- Warmly greeting and personally welcoming guests, managing reservations, and ensuring optimal table assignments.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with regular patrons and VIPs, anticipating their preferences and needs.
- Overseeing all aspects of guest service, ensuring every detail contributes to an exquisite and seamless dining experience.
- Managing the restaurant floor during service, monitoring service flow, staff performance, and guest satisfaction.
- Handling all guest feedback, inquiries, and complaints with grace, professionalism, and effective problem-solving.
- Collaborating closely with the Head Chef to ensure harmony between restaurant and kitchen, and a deep understanding of the menu.
- Ensuring the restaurant's ambiance, cleanliness, and presentation consistently meet the highest luxury standards.
- Overseeing staff scheduling, attendance, and performance reviews.
- Contributing to menu development, wine list curation, and special event planning.
- Managing inventory for front-of-house supplies and equipment.
Requirements:
- Extensive proven experience as a Maître or in a similar senior leadership role within a renowned fine dining restaurant or luxury hotel.
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
- A profound passion for gastronomy, wine, and the art of hospitality.
- Superior communication, interpersonal, and diplomatic skills.
- Ability to manage complex situations with poise and discretion.
- Strong organizational and administrative abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Fluent in English and Italian (both written and spoken). Knowledge of additional languages is highly desirable.
- Impeccable personal presentation, sophisticated demeanor, and a natural ability to connect with people.
- Deep understanding of food safety, hygiene, and restaurant operational standards.
