Mission The Railway System Engineer is responsible for designing, integrating, and optimizing railway systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role involves system-level thinking, covering rolling stock, signaling, infrastructure, power supply, and communication systems. Key Accountabilities Defining and managing railway system requirements, system architecture, and interactions between subsystems (rolling stock, signaling, tracks, power supply). Selecting appropriate technologies and configurations for new rail projects. Ensuring interoperability between different railway subsystems and interfaces between rolling stock, signaling, and infrastructure. Validating system compatibility across national and international railway networks (e.g., ERTMS, CBTC, PTC). Enhancing railway system efficiency in terms of capacity, energy consumption, and operational reliability. Ensuring railway systems adhere to project requirements, standards, laws, etc. Defining and monitoring the execution of the V&V plan. Managing railway system upgrades and modernization projects. Supporting asset management and maintenance planning to maximize system longevity. Implementing IoT, AI, and Big Data solutions for predictive maintenance and automation. Working with Digital Twin, Remote Monitoring, and Smart Signaling technologies. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electronic/TLC Engineering Qualifications: Rolling Stock (Locomotives, EMUs, DMUs, High-Speed Trains) Signaling Systems (ETCS, CBTC, PTC, Interlocking) Electrification (25kV AC, 750V DC, 3kV DC systems) Track Infrastructure (Standard gauge, High-Speed Rail, Light Rail, Metro) Systems Engineering: Requirements and Configuration management. Interface management between hardware, software, and infrastructure. Managing mixed traffic operations (High-speed, freight, commuter trains).
