Overview
Our client is a creative agency with offices in several locations around the world.
We are looking for a Lead CG Generalist who can step in immediately and drive both the creative and technical excellence of client projects. This is an artist-led role with a strong focus on Unreal Engine, pipeline optimization, and scalable content production.
You will combine a sharp creative eye with a future-facing, process-driven mindset.
Beyond delivering high-quality visuals, you will play a pivotal role in designing smarter workflows, mentoring internal artists, and managing third-party suppliers. Your ability to balance artistry with operational efficiency will ensure that they deliver content to scale, on time, and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Create high-quality, photorealistic renders and real-time outputs across interiors, products and environments.
* Take ownership of creative briefs from layout through to final delivery, ensuring both visual quality and production efficiency.
* Build and maintain optimised lighting setups, procedural workflows and scalable asset and material libraries.
* Define, document and enforce best practices across the pipeline to support content at scale.
* Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering technical growth and creative excellence.
* Select, brief and manage external suppliers, providing clear guidelines to integrate seamlessly into the pipeline and overseeing quality control.
* Collaborate with producers, developers and retouchers to deliver consistent results across multiple projects.
* Evaluate and integrate emerging tools and technologies (AI, automation, real-time workflows) to improve scalability and efficiency.
Requirements
* 5+ years of proven experience as a CG Generalist in both real-time and offline pipelines.
* Expertise in Unreal Engine, with the ability to build and optimise efficient real-time workflows.
* Strong understanding of lighting, composition and colour applied to scalable content production.
* Expert level skills in at least one major DCC and offline renderer (3ds Max, Maya, Blender, Cinema 4D + V-Ray, Corona, Cycles).
* Experience with Substance Painter / Designer and PBR material workflows.
* Proven ability to manage complex assets, material variants and third party deliverables.
* Strong communication and leadership skills, with a solution-focused, process-driven mindset.
* A keen eye for detail and passion for visual quality.
Proficiency
* DCC applications : 3ds Max, Maya, Cinema 4D, Blender.
* Experience with AI-driven or automated workflows for efficiency and scalability.
* Interest in emerging technologies, process optimisation and future ways of working.
