We are looking for a Senior Staff Developer to lead our platform’s technical direction at Jane Software. This crucial role will shape our technical strategy, leveraging advanced cloud technologies and scalable architectures to support our growth.
In addition to cloud expertise, you will provide technical leadership in application development and architectural practices, working closely with our foundations teams. As a technical leader, you will mentor and guide our senior and staff developers, fostering their professional development and enhancing our engineering practices. Your leadership will ensure Jane Software scales effectively, meeting and exceeding the expectations of our customers and stakeholders.

Compensation Expectations for the Role
The minimum annual salary is $175,600, and the maximum is $285,400. The range reflects growth potential within the role. New team members are typically hired with a salary between $208,600 and $219,500, representing full accomplishment in the role. Salaries above or below this range may indicate different levels of experience and impact, with opportunities for growth aligned with performance and contributions.

The experience we need…
* Strong application development background, including front-end, back-end, and API development, with experience in scaling companies through growth phases, ideally with large development teams.
* Experience transitioning from application development to cloud-based systems, DevOps, or SRE roles, with familiarity in infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and automation.
* Extensive experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms; GCP or Azure familiarity is a plus.
* Deep understanding of quality assurance, automated testing, security protocols.
* Proven leadership and mentorship skills, capable of guiding teams towards technical excellence.
* Proficiency with Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, LaunchDarkly), Docker, and frameworks like Ruby on Rails or React.
* Strong problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive innovation.
* Exceptional communication skills, with experience leading large, cross-functional teams through influence and guidance.
* Confidence to lead decision-making with a willingness to consider alternative approaches, demonstrating successful execution in recent roles.
