Job Summary Performs a variety of duties related to receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping within a warehouse environment. Duties and Responsibilities Receives and unloads incoming merchandise, inspects, counts, marks, unpacks, segregates, and tags items. Verifies items against documentation to ensure accuracy, checks prices, reports discrepancies, and may sign for received merchandise. Stocks warehouse according to specified locations, checks labels for accuracy, and reports issues to supervisors. May be responsible for a designated area. Prepares merchandise for shipment, transfer, or customer orders, verifying details against documentation. Assists with charge back procedures, including receipt, storage, and shipping of damaged or over-shipped merchandise, and processes related documentation. Performs periodic inventories and assists with inventory preparation. Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of stock areas. Works under supervision, following policies, procedures, and instructions; work is reviewed for efficiency and accuracy. Occasionally operates material handling equipment (MHE). Performs other related duties as assigned. Physical Effort Requires walking, stooping, bending, and standing for extended periods. May lift boxes up to 50 lbs, sometimes over 50 lbs with assistance. Uses pushcarts, ladders, and sharp instruments for opening boxes. Working Conditions Works indoors and outdoors in environments that may be cold, hot, damp, or drafty. Work involves close quarters, potential minor injuries, and risk from falling stock. Training Requirements Hazardous Material (HazMat) training must be completed within 90 days of hire, per Department of Transportation regulations. Experience and Education Minimum of twelve months experience in warehousing duties such as receiving, storing, issuing, or shipping. High school education can substitute for experience at a rate of 3 months per year, up to a high school diploma or GED. Physical Requirements Must be able to walk, stoop, bend, and stand for long periods. May need to lift boxes up to 50 lbs, sometimes over 50 lbs with assistance.
