This role involves partnering with top storytellers to bring their visions to life on the Pocket FM app, engaging with creative teams, writers, data analysts, and producers to develop immersive scripted stories across genres. Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Development: Hire, onboard, and mentor Pod Leads, writers, and creative talent. Foster a collaborative, creative, and accountable culture. Oversee scripted content development, ensuring quality and strategic alignment.
2. Creative Oversight & Execution: Lead production from pitch to delivery, review scripts, and maintain creative integrity. Build relationships with writers and literary agents. Generate new show ideas and ensure timely delivery of scripts.
3. Collaboration with Business & Data Teams: Analyze audience data and market trends to optimize content. Use insights to refine creative decisions and innovate content formats.
4. Innovation & Experimentation: Lead content creation experiments, explore new formats and genres, and develop scalable content creation playbooks. Stay ahead of industry trends.
5. Content Performance & Optimization: Monitor series performance, implement improvements, and manage content costs to optimize resource use without sacrificing quality.
Qualifications
Over 10 years of experience as a Creative Director, Head Writer, or similar leadership role in scripted content (podcasts, audio series, TV, film). Proven team management and coaching skills. Expertise in data-driven creative decision-making. Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Deep industry knowledge and passion for innovation and storytelling.
Location & Language
Remote in Europe with monthly trips to Italy or London. Proficiency in Italian and English required.
