Position Summary
The
Reliability Engineer
will support End users and Distribution Partners. The support provided is mainly on site at the production locations of our end user customers and aimed at asset management and efficiency improvement for the end user. The function requires a large amount of travel and a person that can work independently. The precise geographical area can vary and depends on the company needs and the employee's location and language skills. We are looking for someone who achieves satisfaction professionally by creating value for the customer. This position will be working in an international and multi-cultural, industry focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Safety: Always put safety first. Make sure equipment is safe to work with and adequate training has been done. Use lock-out/tag-out principle to make sure equipment is off when chains need removing/lifting.
- Reliability Surveys: Perform full product mapping of Regal Rexnord (or similar competitive) products in a production line, conveyor by conveyor.
- Wear status of components: During line surveys, measure wear of the various components.
- Data processing: put the data collected on site in the right format and upload to the portal that enables customers to view the data related to their production lines.
- Quote support: Provide information to Customer Service so they can make an offer to the customer for MRO parts that need short term replacement.
- Training: Train our Distribution partners to enable them to do the same Field Service and provide us with the data they collected in the correct format for us to upload on the portal.
- Interchanges: If competitor products are used and/or if we have a newer/better product compared to what the customer is currently using, provide a recommendation about the possible upgrade.
- Promotion: During customer visits, promote the benefits of Premium Service and specifically about doing repeated surveys.
- Upselling: During Reliability Surveys, discuss the option of doing line audits by our Application Engineering team, where we analyze the production line in operation and provide recommendations on how to improve efficiency.
- Product Management: Collect Voice of Customer related to potential product improvements and new products, based on unmet needs.
- Account Management: Establish and maintain excellent relationships with internal/external customers.
- Communication: Provides project coordination and communication.
Experience and Skill Required
- Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering/technology field, or proven similar level obtained by experience.
- Work experience in a Field Service Engineering or similar role. See below for different levels of experience.
- A self-managed and self-motivated individual with strong ownership and commitment
- Fluent spoken and written English and preferably at least one additional modern language
- The willingness and ability to travel extensively (approximately 50% of the time)
- Strong attention to details
- Flexible working schedule, available to work after regular business hours
- Good Communication/social skills, able to communicate with customers on multiple levels
- Driver's license
- At least 3 years of experience
- Sense of urgency
