This job position requires expatriation to Egypt.The Project Design Authority role requires a sound technical knowledge of:Main technologies used to implement Telecom, Security and Signalling systemsWay in which the above systems are usually integratedOperational scenarios typical for a project in Transportation Domain (LRT/Metro/Railways)MAIN ACTIVITIESThe Project Design Authority (PDA):Is the primary technical leader of project team. Acts as Main Technical Interface with the CustomerCoordinates with his technical Customer counterpartIs responsible for Solution Compliance to Customer requirements, standards and regulation and to Hitachi GTS product Policy for the whole ProjectEnsures the solution compliance with Hitachi Rail GTS Product Policy, with Make Team Buy/production/services strategies, contractual requirements and applicable legislation & regulations (ie export restrictions, Environmental/HSE, safety, security..)Checks in conjunction with each SEM (System Engineering Manager) of each entity that the Engineering Environment (process, practices and tools) for the Solution is consistent with Country/Company requirements, and overall Solution cost, technical risks & schedule.Reviews together with each SEM the technical risks and opportunities and the related mitigation plans throughout the project.Prepares and maintain the DVa (Design Validation approval) discussing it with the Design Authority (DA) for approvalApproves the main project engineering reviews and deliverables.Organizes, when appropriate, technical meetings and peer reviews together with the Architects (ARC) and the SEM and other stakeholders (industry, services, specialties…), in order to perform the solution technical assessment and validationAssures the technical coordination with SEM and IVVQSupports SEM in Planning, Controlling and Coordinating all technical activitiesOversees configuration management activities and solution integrity with the Configuration ManagerSupports for deployment/installation and site acceptance activitiesEnsures coordination and communication among the various players in technical activities and a smooth transition of responsibility to "Installation and Commissioning" organizationParticipates to main Project Meetings (internal and external: with the Customer, Hitachi GTS subcontractors and other entities) when scheduled and/or requested.Compiles reports concerning his role and responsibilities according to internal reporting procedure.Drafts official letters and correspondence to be sent to the Customer.Properly deals with other Contractors to manage external interfaces together with the Interface ManagerAssess variation requests in conjunction with GPM for submitting to the CustomerSupports the GPM, the Contract Manager and the Sales department in the technical negotiation of the change proposalsSupports the Contract Manager in preparing the Claim FilesApproves, when applicable, technical documentation to be submitted to the CustomerAssess the overall list of deliverablesSKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:Masters’ Degree in Engineering (Telecommunications, Electronics, IT)Good Knowledge of Requirement Management process and relevant tool (eg Polarion)Deep Knowledge of System Engineering Principles and relevant toolsProven experience in designing complex integrated Transportation Projects during all project lifecycle (design, IVVQ and deployment)Good Knowledge of Communication Systems (IP Networking, Network Security, WLAN, LTE, etc.)Knowledge of Virtualized architectures (HW, Hypervisor and SW architecture)Good Knowledge of Integrated Supervision and Control Systems (SCADA, Environmental Control Systems, Information Systems)Good knowledge of Signalling Systems (Interlocking Systems, Traffic Supervision Systems, Train Detection Systems e.G. Track Circuits, Axel Counters, etc…), and relevant operational scenariosKnowledge of Security Systems (CCTV, Access Control Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems, Digital Video and Voice recording, Fire Detection Systems, etc.Knowledge of Cybersecurity and Information security: Application Firewalling (UTM), AccessControl Rules, Packet Inspection and Intruder Detection Systems andEnsures the integration of cybersecurity aspects within the system architecture, in line with transportation sector standards and project-specific requirementsProven capability of managing/interfacing with Customer and SuppliersProven capability of coordinating/interfacing with heterogeneous resources in an international contextFluency in Italian and EnglishThank you for your interest in Hitachi Rail.
