Job Description
DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Strategic Account Manager. The role focuses on medium to long‑term planning and face‑to‑face selling of various products, services, and solutions across the DePuy Synthes platforms for a defined group of existing clients and strategic accounts.
Responsibilities
* Develop medium‑to‑long‑range sales plans and strategies to protect, grow, and diversify relationships with a defined group of existing customers.
* Identify and manage interactions with assigned customers to uncover cross‑sell, up‑sell, and repeat sales opportunities and to engage with clinical and non‑clinical stakeholders.
* Resolve issues and ensure customers receive high‑quality service.
* Plan and execute client retention and growth strategies for profitable business within assigned accounts.
* Lead as an individual contributor, manage large projects or processes, and act as a valuable resource to peers.
* Apply comprehensive knowledge of Key Account Management to establish best‑in‑class policies, procedures, and plans.
* Design engagement programs together with Business Unit partners for both clinical and non‑clinical customers to maximize the value of the DePuy Synthes proposition.
* Analyze trends and the competitive landscape to continually improve the Key Account Management strategy and forecast growth.
* Consult on lead‑generation activity, target new and existing populations, and instruct sales management through the pipeline.
* Prepare client presentations and product demonstrations to qualify, advance, and close sales.
* Mentor junior colleagues in techniques and processes and provide functional matrix supervision.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Life Sciences, or a related field).
* Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
* 8–10 years of progressive experience in strategic account management or key account selling within medical devices, healthcare, or a regulated industry.
* Proven track record of managing complex accounts and delivering sustained revenue growth.
* Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills at senior customer levels.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and execute long‑term account strategies.
* Excellent analytical, planning, and business acumen skills.
* Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional, matrixed environments.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience within orthopedics or medical technology markets.
* Familiarity with value‑based selling models and complex tender processes.
* Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate at executive level.
Languages
* Fluency in Italian required.
* Professional proficiency in English preferred.
Travel
* Willingness to travel nationally within Italy; occasional international travel may be required.
* Valid driver’s license required for customer‑facing travel.
