JOB DESCRIPTION>Fremont RE-2 School District secondary teachers demonstrate strong content knowledge and pedagogical expertise in their endorsement area. The High School English Language Arts Teacher will establish and maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment that supports a diverse population of students.QUALIFICATIONS
Proper endorsement in Secondary English Language Arts as required by the Colorado Department of EducationKnowledge of Colorado Academic Standards for English Language ArtsStrong background in literature, composition, grammar, and research writingExperience using data to drive instruction and improve student achievementStrong classroom management and student engagement skillsAbility to differentiate instruction for diverse learners, including students with IEPs, 504 plans, and English Language LearnersEffective oral and written communication skillsAbility to maintain positive, professional relationships with students, staff, administrators, and familiesWillingness to comply with district, state, and federal instructional standardsSuccessful completion of all mandated criminal background screenings and fingerprinting
RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching literature, composition, grammar, vocabulary, and research writing to students in grades 9–12Developing students' analytical reading, critical thinking, and argumentative writing skillsPreparing students for state assessments and postsecondary readinessPlanning and delivering standards-based instruction aligned to Colorado Academic StandardsUsing formative and summative assessment data to guide instructional decisionsProviding timely, meaningful feedback on written workDifferentiating instruction to meet the needs of all learnersCollaborating with colleagues in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)Monitoring student progress toward graduation requirementsCommunicating regularly with families regarding student progressParticipating in school improvement efforts and professional developmentSupervising students and fulfilling additional duties as assigned, which may include advisory or extracurricular sponsorship
SALARY & BENEFITS
Salary according to District approved Salary Schedule – Certified Teacher161-day teacher contract at 8.5 hours per day (4-day school week)District will accept up to twenty (20) years of verified experienceDistrict contribution toward vantaggi package valued at $4,944 annually, including Health, Dental, Vision, and Life InsuranceLeave days according to District Policy
