Are you a driven and experienced professional with a passion for transforming patients' lives? At Alnylam, we’re changing the future of medicine through our revolutionary RNAi technology — and we’re looking for exceptional talent to join us on this journey.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Key Account Manager to join our dynamic commercial team in Italy, focusing on the Toscana and Umbria territories. In this field-based role, you will support healthcare professionals (HCPs) to identify and manage patients with hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis (hATTR), a rare and often misdiagnosed condition affecting the nervous and cardiovascular systems.
This is your chance to be at the forefront of rare disease innovation, driving strategic account plans and contributing directly to improved patient outcomes in neurology and cardiology!

As a Key Account Manager (KAM) at Alnylam, you’ll be a trusted expert in the field, leading the implementation of commercial strategies across your territory with a focus on hATTR. Reporting to the Area Sales Manager, you will develop and execute territory-specific account plans aligned with broader organizational goals.

Collaborating with Medical Affairs, Market Access, and other internal teams, you’ll drive initiatives that enhance patient care, while maintaining high standards of ethical, legal, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Present a positive image of the company and develop awareness about the RNAi platform among relevant customer groups.
* Develop and lead regional/hospital market access strategies.
* Create and execute territory and account plans, including customer targeting, in line with country strategy, in partnership with Commercial and Medical Affairs teams.
* Analyze the territory to identify, assess, and support the development of relevant centers for diagnosis and treatment.
* Drive patient identification, diagnosis, and referral rates through strategic execution.
* Manage local meetings to promote diagnosis and treatment, collaborating with Medical Affairs for healthcare professionals.

Your business acumen allows you to navigate complex healthcare environments and add value to care structures. You excel at building awareness and facilitating access to innovative treatments.
You are fluent in Italian and English, both written and spoken, and comfortable in a role requiring up to 80% travel within your territory. Your ability to foster trust and deliver impact makes you a key partner in improving outcomes for patients with rare diseases.
You will have…
* University degree (or equivalent) in a business-related field such as health or a comparable educational background.
* Significant experience in Sales and Key Account Management within bio/pharmaceutical sales.
* Proven ability to lead and deliver territory-level cross-functional planning and influence without authority.
* Strong collaboration skills, building internal relationships, contributing insights, and engaging proactively with partners.
* Customer focus, tailoring messaging and engagement based on customer needs and deepening product and market knowledge.
* Ownership and execution skills, developing detailed, customer-focused business plans aligned with regional goals.
* Diagnostic engagement skills to interact effectively with HCPs involved in diagnosis and patient care.
