Overview Presales Engineer – Industrial Refrigeration Systems (m/f) Reports to: Group CCO (Chief Commercial Officer) Position Overview To expand our workforce we are looking for a Presales Engineer (m/f) to join our team specializing in industrial refrigeration systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical and economic offers, supplier engagement, and document analysis, acting as a crucial pillar to Sales Managers to ensure the development of tailored and competitive technical-commercial proposals. The ideal candidate is passionate about refrigeration and related technology, and possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The role requires a deep technical understanding of refrigeration systems, including components, refrigerants, and system architectures. Previous experience in project-based (made-to-order) industries is considered a strong plus. Key Responsibilities Preliminary technical and economic design of refrigeration systems, based on client requirements and internal standards. Preparation of cost estimates and technical offers. Preparation of complete offers. Maintain contact with clients to gain a deeper understanding of their specific needs Maintain contact with suppliers for technical solutions and quotations. daily contacts with the technical office and production division to ensure the correct technical solution for each project and accurate indications on production lead times. Analysis and interpretation of tender documents, client specifications, and technical requirements. Availability, when required, to conduct site inspections or technical alignment meetings at client locations. Participation in internal reviews and project validation meetings. Ensure compliance with company guidelines, industry standards, and sustainability goals. Work toward achieving a comprehensive technical knowledge of refrigeration plants, including refrigeration machines, key components, and the most suitable refrigerant types for each application. Requirements Education & Experience Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent. At least 2–3 years of experience in a similar role within the industrial refrigeration, HVAC, or process plant sectors. Previous experience in project-based industries (e.g. engineered-to-order systems, plant construction, custom industrial solutions) is a strong plus. Experience with refrigeration systems using natural refrigerants (e.g., CO₂, NH₃) is a plus. Technical Skills Solid knowledge of refrigeration technologies, thermodynamics, and component selection. Strong interest and ability to understand refrigeration plants in depth, including system architecture, compressors, heat exchangers, valves, and refrigerant selection. Proficiency in technical drawing software (e.g., AutoCAD, Solidworks or similar) and Microsoft Office (especially Excel). Familiarity with ERP systems. Good understanding of technical documentation, tender specifications, and contract terms. Soft Skills Strong analytical and organizational skills. Ability to work cross-functional and manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities. Proactive attitude and problem-solving mindset.
