Position Summary
Prepare special meals and substitute items, regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters, thaw food from freezer storage in the refrigerator, arrange portions and garnish, maintain food logs, monitor quality and quantity of prepared food, assist during busy periods, inform the Chef of excess items for daily specials, communicate menu specials and out‑of‑stock items to food & beverage service staff, and ensure overall food quality. Cook food according to recipes, quality, and presentation standards and use the food preparation checklist. Prepare cold foods.
Responsibilities
* Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees; serve as a role model.
* Follow all company safety and security policies; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to the manager; complete safety training and certifications.
* Maintain a clean, professional uniform and personal appearance; protect confidential proprietary information and company assets.
* Anticipate and address guest service needs; communicate clearly and professionally.
* Develop and maintain positive working relationships, support the team to reach common goals, and listen and respond to employee concerns.
* Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods; reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping; move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
* Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
Qualifications
* Technical Trade or Vocational School Degree.
* At least 3 years of related work experience.
* No supervisory experience required.
* None required for license or certification.
