The Lead Design Engineer will actively lead the design and development phase of new rotating equipment such as centrifugal and axial compressors, turboexpanders, reciprocating compressors, and innovative rotating equipment with a focus on industrialization design.
In a multidisciplinary and stimulating environment, you will cover the mechanical design and configuration of compressors and radial expanders, adapting products to the evolving energy transition market and finalizing their definitions.
The main development areas include Gas Technology, Hydrogen Compression, Energy Storage, Waste Heat Recovery Systems, and CCUS (Carbon Capture, Use, and Storage).
Responsibilities
1. Leading and executing the design, validation, and industrialization phases of new products and solutions.
2. Performing calculations, mechanical analysis, cost analysis, and creating drawings to technically define the machine.
3. Leading the transition from a document-centric to a data-centric approach, contributing to digital development.
4. Developing ideas and structuring conceptual roadmaps to achieve goals.
5. Defining new design tools and validating new concepts and products.
6. Generating detailed technical reports and documentation during design and testing phases.
7. Ensuring the design and product maturity facilitate a smooth transition into manufacturing and commercial deployment.
Qualifications
1. Open mindset and willingness to learn and apply new concepts.
2. Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
3. Knowledge of mechanical configuration and drawings, and familiarity with production, assembly, and testing phases.
4. Understanding of structural analyses involved in machine design.
5. Proficiency with CAD and FEA tools.
6. Basic understanding of mechanical behaviors of materials and thermodynamics.
7. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
8. Experience in turbomachinery and digital development is a plus.
9. Good verbal and written skills in English.
