Job Scope

The Demi Chef assists in all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the preparation of food in line with company standards and the requirements set by superiors. They perform daily kitchen tasks such as cleaning the environment, cutting food, using machinery and work tools, and carrying out preparations and cooking according to the menu and requests. Additionally, they work independently based on the directives of their superiors, providing support to the team for all operational needs. The Demi Chef must be prepared in all aspects of the kitchen, from appetizers to mains, desserts, and depending on the structure and operational needs. In some cases, they may be involved in the organization of the kitchen, helping to coordinate the tasks of other chefs or apprentices. Finally, they are expected to participate in internal kitchen team meetings, demonstrating proactivity in proposing new ideas and contributing to discussions.

Job Responsibilities

- Carry out instructions from the supervisor while working independently
- Ensure food preparation, cooking, and presentation meet quality standards
- Ensure the kitchen area and workstations are clean, tidy, and hygienic
- Ensure food quality, consistency, and portion sizes meet standards
- Ensure the quality of ingredients during deliveries and orders
- Handle emergency situations in the kitchen autonomously
- Take the initiative to identify areas for improvement and participate in continuous improvement activities
- Comply with cleaning and HACCP requirements in the kitchen

Job Requirements

- Proven previous experience as a Demi Chef (minimum 3 years)
- Knowledge of food allergies, intolerances, and dietary restrictions
- Attention to detail in food preparation, cooking, and work organization
- Ability to work within a large kitchen team
- Basic knowledge of the English language
- Ability to collaborate with other departments
- Ability to work under pressure
- Adaptability to different culinary styles, sections, new techniques, and supervisor requests
- Time management and quality control skills
- Basic knowledge of pastry preparations
- Knowledge of HACCP and safety regulations related to the specific field
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- Availability to work full-time, 5 days per week
- Work location: Leonardo Da Vinci Fiumicino Airport
