We are looking for an Asset Management Legal Specialist to join our pool of experts, reporting and interacting directly to the IoT Manager.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Asset Management Legal Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our stock and hardware assets to ensure efficient operations and support the organization's goals.
He/She will focus on the legal, customs, commercial law, and intellectual property aspects of asset management.
He/She will be supported by several communities of practice that will provide help when needed. Together with the team of analysts, and developers he/she will ensure the operation and improvement of the process flows which are key for the business of the different entities belonging to the MSC-Group.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Tracking and Monitoring: Utilizing asset management systems to track the location, status, and usage of hardware assets. This includes ensuring all tracking and usage data complies with local and international privacy laws and data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR), especially for devices that may collect sensitive data.
Disposal and Replacement: When assets reach the end of their useful life, the asset manager is responsible for their proper disposal or replacement. This includes ensuring all disposal methods adhere to local environmental laws, and that any data is securely wiped in compliance with data security and privacy regulations. For assets with intellectual property (IP), this process must also be handled to prevent the unauthorized use or disclosure of proprietary information.
Risk Management: Identifying potential risks associated with stock and hardware assets, such as obsolescence, damage, or security vulnerabilities, and implementing strategies to mitigate these risks. This also involves managing legal risks, such as potential IP infringement from third-party components, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements, and mitigating risks related to customs duties and import/export regulations.
Reporting and Documentation: Preparing detailed reports on asset status, maintenance activities, and inventory levels. This information is used for decision-making and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The role also requires documenting ownership rights, license agreements, and any legal contracts related to the assets to ensure full compliance with commercial law and intellectual property rights.
Inventory Management: This involves maintaining an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all stock and hardware assets. The asset manager ensures that all items are properly documented, categorized, and tracked throughout their lifecycle, including verifying that all assets have the correct customs documentation and that their import status is legally compliant.
Maintenance and Repairs: Regular maintenance and timely repairs are crucial to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of hardware assets. The asset manager schedules and oversees maintenance activities, coordinates with service providers, and ensures that all repairs are documented, with a focus on ensuring that any external service providers comply with the contractual terms and non-disclosure agreements regarding the company's hardware and data.
Functional support activities for the different applications used by the business: This includes ensuring that the support provided adheres to the licensing terms of the applications and that all actions comply with the company's internal legal and compliance policies.
Participate in a stand-by-system to guarantee the operational stability of the business: This requires an understanding of legal obligations in case of a system failure, including contractual agreements with service providers and potential liability issues.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
Proven experience in asset management, inventory management, or a similar role
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Proficiency in asset management software and tools
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Analytical thinking skills
Problem solver, keen eye for detail
Good insight; can make the distinction between main and subsidiary issues
Customer focused & result driven
Fluency in English, both written and spoken
