ASMs are responsible for inspiring their team to live out ATS Mission and Values while upholding the company culture. ASMs are responsible for partnering with the General Manager (GM) to meet financial goals to generate the revenue and donations necessary to support the mission operations and community programs provided by ATS. ASMs should empower their team while creating an environment for personal and professional growth. The ASM must have the ability to accomplish profitability through managing operations such as budgeting, financial reporting, profit and loss, identification of high-quality donated items, loss prevention, product quality control, product pricing, and build community rapport with an emphasis on customer relations. Ultimately, you build your team: hiring, training, and developing team members. Supporting the mission is a complex job, but you will get a sense of fulfillment like no other. More importantly, you will get to be a part of a company that is committed to improving our local communities and charity partners! /ppstrongRoles and Responsibilities /strong /pulliPartners with GM to lead retail supervisors, processing supervisor and dock supervisor as they oversee their respective team members /liliInterviews and hires candidates for employment with ATS and helps to identify and recommend employees with proven performance for advancement /liliMonitors and trains employees within the designated period regarding their job duties and all aspects of their employment with ATS /liliCoaches, counsels, and leads supervisors and team members with regards to the performance of their job duties and, when necessary, issues disciplinary actions such as written or oral discipline, or other remedial measures to employees /liliPartners with Assets Protection (AP) team and/or Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to investigate incidents involving company property, equipment, and/or personnel. Must take appropriate action from the result of investigations conducted in partnership with the District Manager (DM) /liliRegularly makes use of company reports to create and maintain sales floor layouts to maximize sales /liliExercises independent judgment in assigning daily job duties to supervisors and team members to achieve daily operational tasks /liliCoordinates and ensures accuracy of deposits and change orders /liliNotifies management immediately of any cash, register, and/or operating issues /liliPartners with DM and HRBP to report any harassment or EEOC issues at the store /liliConducts onboarding and orientation and ensures that all documents are valid, complete, and accurate /liliOversees store operations, resources, and budgets for the location and ensures all goals are met or exceeded /liliCreates an atmosphere of ongoing exceptional customer service to internal (team members, peers, other departments) and external customers (donors, customers, charity partners) /liliManages inventory levels of all merchandise categories and oversees all production levels and quality of merchandise to the sales floor to optimize revenue generation /liliMonitors and ensures a smooth and effective flow of donations adhering to all published standards, safety, security, and state laws /liliResponsible for presentation and merchandising standards on the sales floor /liliResponsible for maintaining a safe environment for customers employees. Monitors safety and security procedures and ensures safety procedures are enforced on an ongoing basis. /liliComplies with and enforces company policies, standards, and values /liliAny other duties as assigned /li /ulpstrongSkills and Qualifications /strong /pulliAt least 3 years of management experience in a retail, production, logistics, or processing environment /liliBasic math and computer skills (ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets understand computerized time and attendance, understand POS systems etc.) /liliProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software /liliA focus on maintaining and improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) /liliDemonstrated capacity to embrace change and ambiguity /liliDemonstrated decision making abilities /liliExperience with hiring and developing staff /liliProven ability to inspire, coach, train, and develop store team members to consistently provide exceptional customer service and drive for results /liliExcellent verbal and written communication as well as active listening skills /liliTactful interaction with peers, subordinates, vendors, and customers preferred /liliAble to conduct business with a high sense of urgency /liliAbility to work with all levels of employees to identify and implement process improvements /liliAbility to work both independently and collaboratively /liliExcellent time management skills with the ability to assign and delegate tasks /liliExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail /liliFrequent lifting and/or carrying of up to 50 lbs /liliProlonged walking, standing, and frequent mobility as well as stretching and bending to stock shelves or fill racks is required /liliFrequent exposure to dirt, dust and other elements that come with processing secondhand items /liliMust be able to pass a background check and drug screen /li /ulpNever- 0%, Occasionally- 1-33%, Frequently- 34-66%, Continuously- 67-100% /ppPhysical Demands: /pulliOccasionally - Carrying up to 50 lbs., pushing and pulling up to 25 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing up to 14-foot height, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, handling and smelling. /liliFrequently - Walking on tile/concrete, bending, feeling, and reaching waist/overhead level. /liliContinuously - Standing on tile/concrete, talking, seeing, and hearing. /li /ulpOther: /pulliMostly regular and weekend hours, occasionally working evenings and holiday hours as needed. /liliWorking environment includes inside of building with controlled temperatures and outside conditions with varying weather and temperatures. /li /ulpemOther duties as assigned: Please note that this job description may not cover every duty or responsibility that might arise in the course of employment.
