Position Overview
The
National Wine Sales Manage
r will be responsible for developing and executing the domestic sales strategy for Vignamaggio's wine portfolio.
This role requires strong leadership, deep knowledge of the Italian wine market, and the ability to foster relationships with agents, key accounts, restaurants, retailers, and hospitality partners nationwide.
This position reports directly to the Cellarmaster.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to increase brand presence and market share in Italy.
Manage and grow relationships with distributors, agents, and key on-trade/off-trade accounts.
Identify new business opportunities and open new distribution channels.
Negotiate commercial terms, contracts, and pricing in line with company objectives.
Collaborate closely with the marketing team to coordinate brand activations, tastings, and promotional campaigns.
Monitor sales performance, market trends, and competitor activity to adjust strategies accordingly.
Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and budgets for senior management.
Lead, motivate, and support the sales team (where applicable), ensuring alignment with company goals.
Represent Vignamaggio at trade fairs, industry events, and client presentations.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Oenology, or related field (Master's degree a plus).
Minimum of 5–7 years of proven wine sales experience in the Italian market, preferably in premium/luxury wines.
Strong existing network within the wine and hospitality industry.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Solid understanding of distribution structures, pricing, and market dynamics in Italy.
Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset.
Fluency in Italian and English (written and spoken); additional languages an advantage.
Based in Tuscany or willingness to relocate/travel extensively across Italy.
