Duties

Use student achievement data and related data to make decisions regarding the school improvement plan, teacher professional development requirements, and programmatic changes.
Promote student growth and achievement, as described by the Community Strategic Plan, through leadership, support, and collaboration.
Gather and analyze student achievement and other related data to inform the decision‑making process, especially regarding school improvement efforts.
Ensure the integration of DoDEA‑approved technology into all curricular areas.
Provide professional development opportunities that both enhance teacher growth and advance the school improvement goals.

Requirements
Conditions of employment

Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre‑Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
Direct deposit of pay is required.
Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
Two‑year supervisory trial period may be required.
This position requires a Tier 3 (T3) investigation with Childcare Checks because its duties involve interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years.
This position requires submission of a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 450) upon entry and annually thereafter.
Transportation agreement may be required.
Mobility agreement required; be available for worldwide placement and willing to rotate to any DoWEA location.
Must satisfy the requirements of 26JUL12 DODI 1400.25 V1230, DoD Civilian Personnel Management System: Employment in Foreign Areas and Employee Return Rights.
Individuals hired from the Continental United States (CONUS) and their family members (who are U.S. Citizens) must obtain Official Passports prior to departure to the overseas area.
Individuals assigned to Italy, England, or Korea are required to obtain a visa to enter those countries.

Qualifications

Current Excepted Service Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA) Employee

To qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.
Education

Master’s degree in educational administration/educational leadership.
Or a Master’s degree reflecting 30 semester hours of graduate‑level coursework, of which at least 20 hours must be Educational Administration/Educational Leadership. A valid unencumbered, fully professional administrator license with a certification comparable to DoDEA Principal issued by a State Board of Education or the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) meets the semester‑hour requirement.
All undergraduate and graduate official transcripts, including EDS and Doctorate, must be submitted.

General Experience
A minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching, specialist, or other professional educator experience at the Pre‑K–12 level is required.
Specialized Experience
A minimum of two years of appropriate experience (elementary and/or secondary) in a staff or supervisory position that clearly demonstrates the ability to administer school educational programs and to effectively supervise educators and support personnel. No more than one year of experience in positions that did not involve actual school administration will be credited as specialized experience.
Foreign Education
Foreign degrees and coursework from non‑accredited institutions must be evaluated before acceptance. Acceptable evaluation procedures are:

The work may be evaluated and interpreted by the International Education Research Foundation, Inc., Credential Evaluation Service (Post Office Box 3665, Culver City, CA 90231‑3665) or;
The foreign institution that awarded the degree is on a list endorsed by a regionally accredited university or by a state department of education for the purpose of teacher certification in that state. An English translation of the transcript and a copy of the degree document, together with an authenticated list from an American university or a state department of education, are required;
The work may be evaluated by the graduate division of a regionally accredited university and declared equivalent to similar undergraduate or graduate work in a U.S. institution.

Graduates of non‑accredited institutions may have their undergraduate work validated by admission to graduate school and completion of a minimum of five semester hours of credit in a regionally accredited graduate college.
Failure to provide all the required information as stated in the vacancy announcement may result in an ineligible rating or may affect the overall rating.
Additional Information

Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the applicable statutes.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens who are not considered ordinarily resident under the applicable Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA). Ordinary resident restrictions vary by host nation.
Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations; it is not offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions.
Applicants with family members with special medical needs should ensure that those needs can be met prior to accepting a position overseas.
Medical and dental care in the overseas location will be the responsibility of the employee and family members. Access to U.S. military treatment facilities is on a space‑available and reimbursable basis only.
Foreign area benefits for selectees initially recruited from the United States may include Living Quarters Allowance, government quarters, home leave, etc., subject to approval. Overseas allowances may be authorized in accordance with Department of State Standardized Regulation (DSSR) and DoDI 1400.25 volume 1250.
Selectees recruited outside the U.S. will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire.
