Park Hyatt Milano is a 5-star luxury hotel located in the heart of the city, overlooking the famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and a few steps from Piazza del Duomo and the Alla Scala opera house. The hotel has won the award for the World’s Best Service, by Travel + Leisure that recognizes excellence in every component of the life of the hotel.Sous Chef reports directly to the Executive Chef.The goal of the Sous Chef is to manage a specific department and work with the Executive Chef to create, implement and maintain quality standards. In some instances, the Sous Chef will be expected to be responsible for the entire operation in the absence of the Executive Chef.The ideal Sous Chef will accomplish their tasks by monitoring the daily functions of the culinary department, including providing support and guidance to the culinary team, ending in a positive guest experience.Responsibilities includeSupport senior leadership by developing and assuming basic management responsibilitiesSupervise the preparation and cooking of various food itemsDevelop and implement creative menu items that adhere to Hyatt brand standardsManage hourly kitchen employees through scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, evaluating and hiring May manage other key culinary leadership rolls including supervisorLead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction resultsMonitor food production, ordering, cost, and quality and consistency on a daily basis Ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipmentQualificationsIn-depth skills and knowledge of all kitchen operationsPossess strong leadership, communication, organization and relationship skillsExperience with training, basic financial management and customer serviceProficient in general computer knowledgeA true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast-paced customer service environmentCapable of producing a consistent product in a timely mannerStrong training and communication skillsCulinary education and/or on the job training, hotel experience preferredHyatt offers a great range of benefits, including12 free nights per year of service across Hyatt Hotels worldwideEmployee and Friends & Family rates across Hyatt Hotels worldwideDry cleaning of business clothesComplimentary meals on dutyContinuous Learning & Development opportunitiesStaff celebrationsPlan WelfareSettling the costs of urban public transport - ATM Milano
