Your Role
We are looking for a Commercial Excellence Manager for the Grocery channel, reporting to the Commercial Excellence director. In this role, you will lead the development and execution of trade marketing strategies aimed at accelerating growth and improving in-store visibility. You will manage a team of four people, ensuring strong collaboration with Sales and Marketing to deliver best‑in‑class activation plans across key customers.
What you will do
* Lead the Trade Marketing strategy for the Grocery channel, defining annual activation plans consistent with brand and commercial priorities.
* Manage, coach, and develop a team of four Trade Marketers, ensuring excellence in execution and strong cross‑functional alignment.
* Build and implement the customer activation calendar, including promotions, in‑store visibility, product launches, and category initiatives.
* Collaborate closely with the Sales Team to develop tailored shopper activation plans for top retailers.
* Monitor and analyse market trends, shopper insights, and category performance to identify growth opportunities.
* Manage the trade marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation, ROI analysis, and continuous optimisation.
* Coordinate with Supply Chain on forecasting needs linked to promotions and activations.
* Track performance of all trade initiatives and prepare reporting for internal stakeholders.
* Support brand teams on go‑to‑market strategies, including pricing, portfolio strategy, and channel‑specific recommendations.
What we are looking for
* Proven experience (6+ years) in Trade Marketing, Category Management, or Sales within FMCG, ideally with exposure to the Grocery channel.
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
* Solid understanding of shopper behaviour, in‑store dynamics, and category drivers.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn insights into actionable plans.
* Excellent project management skills and ability to manage complex cross‑functional initiatives.
* Fluent in English and Italian, both written and spoken.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Nielsen/IRI data.
* Strong communication skills, stakeholder management, and a collaborative mindset.
* A proactive, strategic thinker with a hands‑on attitude and strong ownership.
