As a member of the Proposal Team, the Proposal Engineer is responsible for the technical and commercial development of proposals for control systems and integrated engineered solutions, including rotating machinery control, DCS, F&G, ESD and SCADA systems, serving the Oil & Gas and Power Generation markets.
The role will work together with the whole Commercial structure, as well as with the Operations, Engineering and Procurement Depts., in order to provide professional, timely and winning proposals meeting the requirements of international market.
Responsabilities:
•Support the development of business opportunities by managing the full proposal and opportunity lifecycle, from customer engagement and technical/commercial evaluation through offer preparation, negotiation, contract award and transfer to project execution.
•Carry out detailed technical and commercial analysis of the requests for quotation received from the Customer;
•Gather commercial scope and information, to address and facilitate the bid strategy;
•Proactively suggest alternatives and options (where possible) to reduce cost, improve value to Customer and increase profitability;
•Prepare the technical and commercial proposal and comment customer T&Cs establishing proper commercial conditions, while interfacing with the Technical structure and with the Sales role who's appointed for the project;
•Interact with the Procurement Department and in specific cases directly with suppliers for dedicated project's requirements, to gather the appropriate material, schedules, cost, pricing and/or other relevant commercial information related to the bid;
•Follow-up the whole negotiation process, from the offer submission to Customer up to the purchase order verification, closely cooperating with the Sales team, to reach the best result;
•Support the Project Management team during the project planning phase, sharing all the project's details previously collected;
•Work together with regional Sales roles abroad, in order to align and develop the proposal process of the Group, as well as to share and coordinate worldwide business opportunities;
•Populate and maintain constantly updated internal databases, sheets and any other management systems (e.g. CRM, SAP, etc.);
•Prepare internal reports and detailed analysis, schedule internal approval meetings with the Top Management, in order to facilitate decision-making, grant a smooth workflow and respect deadlines.
Qualifications & Requirements:
•High School Diploma in Electronics, Automation, Electrical Engineering / Bachelor or Master Degree in the same disciplines.
•Strong knowledge of industrial automation and/or rotating machinery, including associated instrumentation and control systems.
•Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
•Fluent English, both written and spoken, is mandatory.
•Availability for international travel on short- and medium-term assignments. xivgfpx
•Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar technical-commercial or proposal engineering role.
