Senior Product Manager – Payload Focus
To support our company’s growth, we are looking for a Senior Product Manager – Payload Focus to join our Growth Team reporting to Argotec’s Head of Product Management and take part in the definition of the company’s Product roadmap, ensuring the competitiveness of Products under your responsibility and supporting their development cycles. This role involves a willingness and ability to work in regulated contexts, including dual‑use and defence‑related projects.
Responsibilities
* Be responsible for the Earth Observation and telecom payloads’ development for delivering missions on time and support company’s business goals;
* Participate in strategy shaping that drive product development, with particular focus on the payloads;
* Plan and execute activities oriented in identifying key users’ needs and capture market development opportunities;
* Define product requirements, assist the planning of product design and support the whole development cycles;
* Prepare and lead the launch of new products/solutions;
* Monitor market trends, track competitors' products and put strategies in place to highlight potential risks;
* Review technical documents (Design Description, ICD, Test Procedures, Technical Specifications etc.);
* Work closely with other teams to execute company’s strategy;
* Support Sales and Marketing teams and related activities (e.g support to proposal preparation);
* Support R&D in the development of new technologies and Engineering in the execution of product development projects;
* Support product-related publications at relevant conferences and events;
* Develop long‑term relations with partners and potential clients.
General Requirements
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business or related fields;
* At least 5 years of experience in Product Management, Systems Engineering, Telecom Engineering;
* Analytical thinking and proactive problem‑solving attitude;
* Ability to translate a strategic vision in concrete projects;
* Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams;
* Excellent written and oral communication in English.
Required Experiences & Skills
* Solid understanding of product development cycles, from concept definition to market delivery;
* Strong knowledge of payloads, including Earth Observation and telecom ones;
* Strong technical knowledge and understanding of the aerospace industry and product domains, with particular focus on small-sats (70-500 kg);
* Proven track record of launching products in the market;
* Experience in managing cross‑functional projects involving multiple stakeholders;
* Experience in conducting market research, user research, data analysis and testing;
* Experience in creating and delivering effective presentations and documents, using various tools and formats, such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.;
* Strong business acumen and financial awareness;
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment;
* Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements;
* Ability to establish and maintain long‑term business relationships with government, civilian and military entities’ personnel (e.g., ESA, ASI, NASA, DoD) and key aerospace customers;
* Ability to interact appropriately with press as necessary;
* Experience in applying product management methodologies and tools, such as Open Product Management Workflow™, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, etc.
Additional Assets
* Experience in Earth Observation and telecom payloads design and development is preferred;
* Established network in the Defense & Aerospace industry;
* Knowledge of space standards (CCSDS, ECSS, MIL etc.);
* Ability to handle sensitive and classified information as required by government standards.
