The Global Information Technology (IT) Department of Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) is actively working on rationalising and streamlining the diverse technological landscape within the Group. This ongoing initiative bears many aspects and lead to many projects mobilising the overall workforce of the company. Business Analyst: The Role We are looking for a business analyst to join our pool of experts, reporting and interacting directly to the Business analysis Team lead. The business analyst translates the business requirements into IT specifications, he/she is the bridge between IT and business to optimize current and future processes. He/She will be supported by several communities of practice that will provide help when needed. Together with the team he/she will ensure the operation and improvement of the process flows which are key for the business. Key Responsibilities Investigate and review business flows and process improvements Analyze and describe business requirements and processes in cooperation with the business Define correct scope to meet the business needs & expectations Create process maps and business blueprints Translate the business requirements to business solutions Develop, review and improve SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) together with the business Handle incidents with the necessary priority Daily support via Service Now Develop improved and new business process Discuss with stakeholders within IT Regular meetings with business users within the MSC Group Support IT-colleagues on business aspects (knowledge sharing) Give training where needed Identify automation opportunities Report to the Business analysis Team lead Qualifications and Experience Technical: Required Bachelor’s degree Good maritime business knowledge Office365 functional knowledge Experienced with business process modelling tools General soft skills Strong analytical skills Problem solver Big interest in the maritime shipping industry and related business processes Good insight; can make the distinction between main and subsidiary issues Driven by common sense Clear and diplomatic communicator, customer focused Fluency in English, both written and spoken Following characteristics describe you perfectly: professional, motivated, assertive, proactive, result driven and eager to learn You can create and maintain clear and accurate documentation, you are always ready to share knowledge and best practices with your colleagues You don’t compromise where it concerns quality Immune to stress, go-getter, pro-active, change-minded, focused You have a no-nonsense, can-do mentality You are a real team-player, self-motivated with high personal working standards Flexible, no 9-to-5 mentality
