The Office of Communications (OCC) is responsible for both external and internal communications of the Organization. It aims at making FAO's communications strategic, coherent, focused and impactful, while ensuring effectiveness and efficiency in communication-related operations.
The position is located in Internal Communications, OCCC and based at FAO headquarters, Rome, Italy. OCCC manages internal communications, including the Intranet and other channels, corporate content, campaigns, events, and the FAO Shop.
Reporting Lines
The PSA reports to the Senior Communications Officer, OCCC, and supervises shop assistants. It focuses on shop operations, sourcing, inventory, and customer relations.
Technical Focus
The PSA manages marketing and sales functions, ensuring smooth operation of the FAO Shop, coordinating sourcing, quality control, shipping, and service delivery.
Tasks and Responsibilities
* Manage shop hours, supervise and train staff.
* Source and propose pricing for branded items, manage retail operations.
* Oversee inventory, procurement, and sales, ensure quality and branding standards.
* Coordinate shop displays, maintain stock organization.
* Engage with staff and external partners for ideas and feedback.
* Develop promotional materials and update digital catalogues.
* Conduct market research to improve product offerings.
* Liaise with suppliers and manage customer correspondence.
Minimum Requirements
* Secondary education in communications, marketing, or customer relations.
* One year relevant experience in marketing and sales.
* Working knowledge of English.
