This position offers an opportunity for a technology leader to:
1. Lead the Hardware Certification roadmap and OEM partnerships
2. Collaborate with engineering on development plans for Hardware Certification
3. Define future business models considering the competitive landscape
4. Engage with the Ubuntu community, partners, OEMs, and customers to enable success and go-to-market strategies
The role involves product leadership and go-to-market strategy, translating vision into plans and market launches. Our product managers are software engineering professionals aiming to become business leaders and entrepreneurs. They oversee the entire product lifecycle, combining technical expertise, strategic thinking, analytics, project management, and communication skills to meet user needs and business goals.
Location: This role is remote within the EMEA region.
The responsibilities include:
* Leading product development priorities and goals
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, marketing, sales)
* Addressing project challenges, aligning priorities, and enabling informed decisions
* Conducting market research and analyzing industry trends
* Communicating product vision and updates
* Conducting usability testing and iterating on products
* Supporting go-to-market strategies and creating documentation and training
* Assisting sales in winning opportunities and participating in customer meetings
Qualifications:
* Excellent academic results at high school and university
* Understanding of Linux and open source community
* Knowledge of computer architecture, application development, datacenters, cloud, or devices
* Passion for technology writing and landscape
* Strong work ethic and interest in open source
* Curiosity and continuous learning
* Ownership mindset
* Problem-solving and innovation skills
* Outstanding English communication skills
* Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for company events
Nice-to-have skills include familiarity with hardware ecosystems, embedded devices, testing frameworks, and experience building certification programs.
