Role Description
We are seeking a full-time Chef to join our esteemed culinary team at Tenuta Santo Pietro. This on-site role, located in Siena, involves creating seasonal menus inspired by traditional Tuscan cuisine, sourcing and working with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients from our farm and surrounding areas. The Chef will oversee food preparation, lead the kitchen staff, uphold high standards of hygiene, manage the kitchen budget, and ensure an exceptional dining experience for guests. Collaborating with the restaurant team to provide innovative, high-quality dishes is a key part of this position.
Qualifications
- Strong culinary skills in farm-to-table cooking, menu creation, and traditional Tuscan cuisine
- Proficiency in kitchen management, including inventory control, food safety, and hygiene standards
- Leadership experience, with the ability to train, motivate, and oversee kitchen staff
- Ability to procure high-quality ingredients, prioritize locally sourced and seasonal products
- Excellent time management, organization, and multitasking abilities under pressure
- Creativity and passion for delivering outstanding dining experiences
- Relevant culinary certifications or a degree in Culinary Arts is preferred
- Prior experience in Italian or Mediterranean cuisine and fine dining is a strong asset
- Proficiency in Italian and/or English is beneficial
