Compass Group Italia is the Italian division of Compass Group PLC, global leader in food services with over £40 billion in annual revenue.
We are looking for an Account Manager dedicated to clients' retention to join our team at Milan HQ, managing and nurturing relationships with a portfolio of key international clients — with a focus on contract renewal phases and ongoing service quality.
The role
The Account Manager will act as the main point of contact for both clients and internal teams, ensuring integrated management of people, facilities, and processes, and translating client needs into concrete and efficient solutions. Working alongside operations, finance, and HR, the role requires someone who understands how the business works on the ground and can bring that knowledge into every client interaction.
Key responsibilities
Building and maintaining proactive relationships with assigned clients, ensuring satisfaction and consistent service quality
Supporting contract renewal processes, working closely with internal teams to prepare proposals and consolidate the client relationship
Monitoring financial and contractual aspects : tracking costs, margins, and performance against agreed targets and corporate standards
Tracking KPIs and preparing periodic reports to support internal decision-making through data analysis
Acting as the coordination point between clients and internal functions, translating needs into practical solutions
Identifying areas for improvement and flagging opportunities for service development in collaboration with the team
Required qualifications
2–4 years of experience in contract catering, food service, or a related operational/management role
Ability to bring operational experience into client-facing situations : understanding what happens on the ground and translating it for the client
Fluent English, written and spoken — this is a working language in the role, not a formal requirement
Comfortable working with numbers: ability to read a P&L, monitor costs, and interpret performance data — analytical experience is a plus, not a prerequisite
Good proficiency with digital tools and management systems
Results-oriented mindset, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to travel
What we offer
The opportunity to grow within a structured, international organisation, taking on real responsibility for a top-tier client portfolio from day one. You will work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams, in an environment where service excellence and teamwork are core values — with concrete prospects for professional development as you build expertise and autonomy in the role.
