BARTENDER: Job purpose The Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional beverage service to members and guests at the exclusive member club. They create and serve a variety of cocktails, wines, and other beverages, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable experience for patrons. Main Activities and Responsibilities: - Greet patrons warmly upon arrival, engage in conversation, and assist with drink selections. - Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wines, beers, and specialty drinks, following standardized recipes and presentation guidelines. - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including bar tops, equipment, and glassware. - Monitor inventory levels of liquor, mixers, garnishes, and other supplies, and restock as needed to ensure availability during service. - Handle cash transactions, process payments accurately, and maintain proper cash handling procedures. - Interact with patrons in a friendly and professional manner, providing recommendations, answering questions, and addressing any concerns or complaints. - Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines at all times, including proper handling and storage of food and beverage items. - Collaborate with other staff members, including bar backs, waitstaff, and runners, to ensure smooth and efficient service. - Maintain knowledge of current cocktail trends, new products, and industry developments to enhance the club's beverage offerings. - Assist in planning and executing special events, promotions, and tastings to showcase the club's beverage program and attract new members. - Manage other activities relating to or resulting from what is indicated in the previous points. Key Competencies: Required Education and Experience: - High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in bartending or mixology preferred. - Previous experience (2-3 years) as a bartender in a high-end restaurant, hotel, or private club setting preferred. - Knowledge of one or more foreign languages (min. Italian and English). General Knowledge and Technical Skills: - Strong knowledge of cocktail recipes, mixology techniques, and beverage service standards. - Familiarity with bar equipment, including shakers, strainers, jiggers, and glassware. - Proficiency in POS systems and cash handling procedures. Personal and Interpersonal Skills: - Excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and outgoing personality. - Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage patrons and build rapport. - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. - Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and presentation. - Professional demeanor and appearance, with a positive attitude and a passion for hospitality.
