TASK RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure safe and reliable completion of all ground operations activities - By ensuring all activities with regard to safety, security, quality, effectiveness and efficiency foreseen in local and international laws and regulations are met - By ensuring that ground processes, as described in the GOM, are performed in accordance with the requirements of the Ground Ops Quality System - By ensuring that customers’ needs and expectations are understood and met (more specifically, but not limited to dangerous goods, live animals, perishables, off-size cargo.) - By ensuring availability of qualified staff, subcontractors or other resources - By assisting other Cargolux stations in any operational related matters - By monitoring work-processes and supervising Ground Handling agents, other service providers and trucking companies - By ensuring compliance regarding safety and procedures with the provisions of the GOM manual, the Security Program manual and other corporate manuals Supervise and co-ordinate warehouse/cargo handling activities - By monitoring the GHA’s cargo acceptance, storage and handling/build up activities - By giving instructions and monitoring the palletising of special cargo i.e. live animals, vehicles, heavy and off size, valuables according to procedures - By writing accurate handling reports in case of handling discrepancies - By supporting tracing functions Aircraft Load Planning and Loading supervision - By collecting the ULD information from the GHA - By issuing a load plan with the CV weight & balance software - By planning the load in such a way allowing the next download station a safe and on time turn round - By handing out the load plan/loading instructions to the GHA - By issuing the load plan, load sheet and cargo related notifications to captain (notoc) - By supervising GHA staff operating the cargo loading system - By verifying that the load plan matches the load on board the aircraft - By giving instructions to loading personnel for tie down requirements. Coordinate CV aircraft turnaround activities - By ensuring/coordinating for the required parking spot and handling equipment with the airport/GHA - By timing the complete aircraft unloading and loading process - By giving accurate estimate times on the offload/load duration for crew call out purposes - By requesting the temperature set up on the aircraft - By advising and reporting any offload/load process disruption and reason - By reporting any loading system malfunction and cargo hold damage during the turn round - By establishing the aircraft offload/ load sequence Supervise Ramp Handling activities Ensure on-time performance for all Cargolux flights - By coordinating schedule with network management, flight dispatch and network punctuality - By anticipating potential schedule disruptions and organize corrective action(s) - By reacting to all schedule disruptions and organize corrective action(s) - By coordinating, monitoring and supervising that all ramp activities and services are performed in accordance to flight schedule Coordination of ramp activities and services with GHA(s), maintenance, flight dispatch/operations control and other service providers (i.e. fuel, de-icing, catering providers, etc.). - By checking that all required data concerning off-load and load of the aircraft is available - By checking that all particulars concerning passengers, catering, operations have been taken into account - By checking that ground equipment is available, serviceable and in position - By checking that adequate parking stand is available and clear of FOD’s - By checking that required personnel is available and correctly dispatched and briefed of his duties ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION: - Italian and English are mandatory - High school diploma - It skills (MS office, etc) - Ramp/aircraft handling experience - Aircraft weight & balance / load control experience are an advantage WORKING CONDITIONS: - Position based in Malpensa (IT) - Occasional business trips may be required - Flexibilty in working hours - Work on shifts - A certificate of good conduct will be required
