Location: This role is remote in Italy.
At Xolo, we believe solopreneurs deserve better. We have simplified entrepreneurship by removing bureaucracy, automating admin, and enabling thousands of people worldwide to build and run their own businesses.
About the role
We are looking for a Chartered Accountant (Dottore Commercialista) with hands‑on experience in Italian freelancer taxation to support Xolo’s clients. You will provide practical, client‑facing support for freelancers and sole proprietors, handling inquiries, documentation, and filings such as VAT reports, Intrastat declarations, and annual income tax returns. The role is focused on practical support rather than corporate tax work, and you will also address cross‑border and foreign asset‑related tax questions through client tickets.
Responsibilities
Guide customers through the Italian tax landscape, focusing on freelancers and sole proprietors operating under regimes forfettario, semplificato, or others.
Advise clients on tax‑related topics during onboarding and throughout their time with Xolo, offering clear and practical guidance.
Assist with voluntary settlements or corrections for late tax payments or compliance issues.
Collaborate with internal teams and participate in regular syncs to ensure seamless service delivery.
Contribute insights to shape and improve the Italian platform and operational workflows.
Maintain accurate client records across platforms such as TS Digital and other internal tools.
Prepare and file all required tax documents, including quarterly VAT reports, Intrastat declarations, and annual income tax returns.
Handle all essential registrations with public bodies such as VAT, INPS, INAIL, and the Chamber of Commerce, based on the client’s business structure and needs.
Requirements
Degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field.
Qualification as Dottore Commercialista (Dr. Commercialista) in Italy.
At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in Italian tax compliance, particularly with freelancers, self‑employed professionals, and expat clients.
Fluent in Italian and English (written and spoken, C1 or above).
Excellent knowledge of the Regime Forfettario and Semplificato and standard freelancer tax obligations.
Strong knowledge of VAT, INPS, and Italian taxation for expat clients.
Experience handling Chamber of Commerce processes.
Able to communicate complex tax topics in simple terms to non‑accountants.
Comfortable working fully remotely and collaborating with international teams.
Proficiency with accounting tools (experience with TeamSystem is a plus).
Benefits
Well‑being package: choose between health insurance or a sports membership, receive a one‑time home office setup bonus, and a monthly remote work allowance. Also a yearly company summer event in Estonia.
Autonomy: choose when and where you work, with flexibility to shape your workday.
A culture that encourages innovation, efficient processes, and empathy.
Part of a remote‑first, global team.
