About Orient Express

About Orient Express La Minerva

Considered as the beloved capital of the Orient Express legend, Rome is the first Orient Express hotel, La Minerva, in 2025. Orient Express has entrusted the interior architecture and artistic direction of the hotel Hugo Toro. The former Palazzo Fonseca is a sumptuous 17th-century palace with a huge, majestic façade. A place of memory still adorned with its Roman columns, sculptures by Rinaldo Rinaldi, a disciple of Canova, and the fascinating goddess Minerva. At the end of 2024, a new décor and interior inspired by the Roman domus and the riches of the \"Eternal City\" will be revealed with a new touch of contemporary elegance.

Our Barman will be a key ambassador of the hotel’s bar experience, responsible for delivering exceptional and memorable service that reflects the highest standards of luxury hospitality. With passion, creativity, and attention to detail, the Barman will craft refined cocktails, engage warmly with guests, and contribute to the overall success of the bar, consistently enhancing guest satisfaction and upholding the luxury values of the property.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience working in prestigious bar environments and a deep knowledge of mixology, premium spirits, and hospitality excellence. They will demonstrate an understanding of the elevated service expectations of international and high-profile guests, and approach their role with professionalism, pride, and dedication to creating outstanding experiences.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare and serve beverages to the highest standard, ensuring consistency, precision, and attention to detail at every stage of the guest experience.

2. Create unique, tailored cocktails using premium spirits, fresh ingredients, and modern techniques, in line with the hotel’s brand and vision.

3. Provide a warm, engaging, and intuitive service to guests, confidently recommending drinks based on preferences and offering a personalized experience.

4. Ensure that all drinks served meet quality, presentation, and timing standards in accordance with FORBES standards and brand expectations.

5. Maintain expert-level knowledge of the full beverage offering, including classic and signature cocktails, wines, champagnes, and premium spirits.

6. Anticipate guest needs and proactively offer solutions, ensuring seamless and memorable service at all times.

7. Collaborate closely with the Bar Manager and team to support new menu development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and creative concepts.

8. Keep the bar area immaculate and organized at all times, ensuring compliance with hygiene, health, and safety regulations.

9. Monitor stock levels during service, report low stock or quality issues, and support in stock rotation and inventory procedures as required.

10. Assist in training new team members by demonstrating exemplary product knowledge, technique, and service etiquette.

11. Handle guest complaints or concerns professionally and discreetly, always aiming to recover service and exceed expectations.

12. Support the broader Food & Beverage team in delivering a seamless, luxurious experience across all outlets.


Qualifiche
13. Proven experience as a Bartender in a high-end bar, luxury hotel, or fine dining establishment; international luxury experience is highly desirable.

14. Extensive knowledge of cocktail creation, classic recipes, bar techniques, and beverage pairings.

15. Genuine passion for hospitality, mixology, and guest interaction.

16. Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume luxury environment while maintaining impeccable standards.

17. Professional appearance and demeanor, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

18. Strong understanding of hygiene and safety procedures in bar operations.

19. A positive, team-oriented attitude with the desire to grow and contribute to a collaborative working culture.

20. Ability to adapt to changing guest profiles, preferences, and service expectations.

21. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

22. Fluent in Italian and English, both written and verbal.
