Experteer Overview
As Manufacturing Engineer - Shop Support, you will diagnose and resolve production issues on the floor, collaborating with Method Manufacturing Engineers and Shop floor teams. You’ll develop CAM programming to enable on-machine problem solving and support tooling and pre/post‑production activities. You’ll influence part programs and machining methods to ensure quality and rapid industrialization. This role sits within the IET team, driving improvements across manufacturing operations and applying cutting‑edge technology to boost productivity.
Responsibilities
- Support production floor to identify causes of production stops and coordinate with method engineers and shop floor to resolve issues
- Develop CAM programming to support on‑machine problem solving
- Support all aspects of new tooling and method pre‑production and post‑launch production
- Influence part program design to ensure product quality and quick introduction/industrialization of new machining methods
Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Good knowledge of machining processes and machine tools
- Good team player with strong communication and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings/specs and manufacturing processes/evaluation
- Experience with CAD/CAM applications and 3D applications (Unigraphics preferred)
- Lean Manufacturing experience preferred
