Baglio Occhipinti, a boutique agricultural estate surrounded by vineyards, olive trees and organic gardens in the countryside of Ragusa, announces an international open call for a Resident Farmer Chef: a creative chef who wants to live, cook and create in the heart of rural Sicily for 2 to 6 months, with the possibility of a longer seasonal stay.
Your Role
* Lead the kitchen with an authentic farm-to-table approach, using ingredients harvested daily from our gardens, orchards and olive groves.
* Create menus inspired by Mediterranean tradition, interpreted with elegance and contemporary sensitivity.
* Work closely with our agricultural team to plan seasonal harvests, heritage varieties and new growing projects.
* Propose engaging culinary experiences for guests: vineyard dinners, private tables in the garden, tastings, special events.
* Collaborate with local winemakers and producers to integrate natural wines and small artisan ingredients into your cuisine.
This is not merely a chef position:
It is an immersive living and creative experience in nature.
Who We Are Looking For
* You do not need to be Italian: the call is open to chefs of all backgrounds and nationalities.
* Previous experience in fine dining, boutique hotels, eco-resorts or high-level kitchens.
* Deep knowledge of raw ingredients, artisanal transformation and culinary craftsmanship.
* True passion for agriculture, seasonality, biodiversity and Mediterranean ingredients.
* A curious, sensitive spirit capable of combining technique with poetry.
* A desire to live in close contact with nature: olive trees, vineyards, silence, wind and Sicilian light.
