Based at our head office in Nidau / Switzerland or at one of our European production sites, we are looking for an experienced and ambitious personality as a Business Development Manager Automotive / Industry About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Group CEO, this role is specifically focused on generating new business and expanding our market presence by offering process engineering and manufacturing services for plastic injection molding parts within the automotive industry and other markets. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and developing strategies to achieve sales targets. Responsibilities Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and achieve the company’s commercial objectives. Use data to identify potential new business, project sales, and determine profitability. Identify and engage with potential clients, including automotive OEMs and other Tier 2 suppliers. Initiate customer engagement activities, discuss new opportunities, and exchange information about them. Consult with potential customers to understand their needs, and suggest equipment, products, or services that will meet those needs. Provide technical support and guidance to clients regarding process engineering and manufacturing capabilities. Develop commercial plans, prepare, and present detailed proposals and quotations to potential clients. Prepare quotations by utilizing your knowledge of plastic injection molding processes and automotive industry standards to effectively communicate with clients and meet their specific needs. Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure new business deals. Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to promote our process engineering and manufacturing services. Grow a network of industry contacts to generate new business leads. Prepare sales budgets, monitor, and approve expenses. Review and analyze sales and operational records and reports. Work with purchasing and suppliers to develop new customer opportunities. Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and mitigate risks. Your Profile 15–20 years of seniority or work experience in a similar role. Technical background / Engineering Degree to understand Tier 2 processes in the automotive industry (must-have qualification). Knowledge of plastic technology is compulsory. Excellent communication, listening, negotiation, and presentation skills. Ability to engage customers emotionally and build rapport. Motivated by success and growth, with a drive to bring business home. Ability to leverage and expand your own network within the industry. Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships. Proficiency in market research and analysis. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of an international matrix organization.
