Digital Realty has recently expanded into Italy! We are seeking a visionary leader to craft a compelling sales strategy, build an elite sales team, and establish a presence in this new market. The role involves negotiating complex deals and managing the customer acquisition process from lead to close.
* Initiate, create, and execute new business sales strategies and annual plans targeting prospective and newly acquired accounts, aligned with the local Sales & Marketing plan and Digital Realty's overall business and commercial strategies.
* Proactively develop relationships with decision-makers up to C-suite level at prospective and new customers, either directly or through leads generated by local Marketing, Business Development, or partner channels.
* Utilize LinkedIn, structured social media campaigns, and attend relevant local industry events to gain appointments, build relationships, and increase awareness of Digital Realty's value proposition.
* Identify, qualify, pursue, design, propose, negotiate, and close new business opportunities collaboratively with the local Management, Operations team, Marketing, Strategy, and Legal departments.
* Conduct commercial and customer contract negotiations within delegated authority and predefined guidelines.
* Oversee and support post-sale activities to ensure smooth customer onboarding and ongoing satisfaction.
* Sustainably staff, engage, and grow the sales team, optimizing deployment and account allocation.
* Analyze and improve processes to increase ROI.
* Manage the execution of sales and support roles, ensuring team performance aligns with targets and objectives.
* Ensure compliance with sales processes, policies, and performance standards.
What you'll need
* Educational background at Bachelor or Master level.
* Fluency in English and Italian.
* Minimum of 7 years of experience in consultative selling, preferably in IT services, data centers, telecom, or network environments.
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data to support decisions and actions.
* Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams.
* Excellent problem-solving, issue-resolution, attention to detail, and multitasking skills.
* Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
* Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently.
* Exceptional solution and consultative selling skills, with the ability to articulate clear value propositions.
* Excellent negotiation skills with a high contract closing rate.
